Indigenous Customary Law and Norwegian Domestic Law: Scenes of a (Complementary or Mutually Exclusive) Marriage?

Articles 27 and 34 of the United Nations Declaration on Rights Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) recognise Peoples’ laws. Art. gives right to maintain their juridical systems or customs in accordance with international human rights standards. Although UNDRIP is soft law, its core arguably customary law and, therefore, a binding source law. For States People, such as Norway, paramount importance, from legal, political, not least moral perspective.
